Punjabi University Dhuni

At the time of establishment of Punjabi University to express its motive in the form of Bani, the Shabad 'Vidya Vichari ta Parupkari' written by Guru Nanak Dev ji in Raag Aasa, was used as University Dhuni. The honour of making this distinct composition in Raag Aasa itself goes to Dr. Gurnam Singh, founder Professor and Head, Gurmat Sangeet Chair and Department of Gurmat Sangeet. Now in 2010, this Dhuni has been re-recorded in nouveau musical arrangement, which was released by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh on 18th August in the form of CD.
